Be Who You Are, Do What You Love,
Make A Difference, Change the World!
Welcome to the Samantha Elisabeth Porter Memorial Scholarship website. Here you will find out about who Samantha (Sam) Porter is, why it is important to have the scholarships, and how to get involved.
The mission of the Samantha Elisabeth Porter Memorial Scholarship is to inspire people to make the most of their life and enjoy it to its fullest, as well as to support graduating seniors as they begin their post-secondary studies as they work to fulfill their dreams.
Samantha Elisabeth Porter was a senior at North Daviess High School who was called to Heaven on September 28, 2012 while she was on her way home from the high school football senior night festivities. Sam was a very active girl who was a member of the cross country team, softball team, cheerleading squad, student council, high school marching band, jazz band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was the Red Cross representative for her class, as well as a member of 4-H. She also enjoyed working at Larkranch Corn Maze and as a corn detassler with Pioneer. Sam was eager to go to college with the hopes of becoming a physician and would want to help others as they pursue a college education.
Although Sam was called to Heaven that night, her spirit is still very much alive in those who were fortunate enough to know her. It is in honor of Sam’s spirit that the Samantha Elisabeth Porter Memorial Scholarship was established so that through her, others will receive assistance in their endeavors.
